And "Beautiful Sunshine" / “The Visitors” (double album) is about the rollercoaster of love and our predilection to conflict and need to reconcile.

1 BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE

I wake up in the morning, beautiful sunshine

I wake up in the morning all I see is you

At the end of a day of marked success

I take out my cufflinks as I get undressed

I thought of you as I climbed the stairs

Acutely aware I was glad you were there

And even though you’re asleep and unaware

I’m happy that I have someone who cares

The words flow easy

That's also your doing

But lets not get carried away though

I'm afraid of approving

And I wake up in the morning,

beautiful sunshine

I wake up in the morning

all I see is you

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day

You're more beautiful

Than anything Shakespeare could say

Shall I compare thee to a starry starry night

You’re more dazzling

than anything Vincent tried to hold in sight

Finally letting go,

finally sitting down,

finally what I know

laughing a clown in town

An artist has to make some room

in everything he seems

taking that the higher lines are free

he doesn’t care about the surreptitious,

he’s into helping you get rid of the delicious,

junkie and monkey on your back

He cares about the sense of it,

He’s into the defence of it,

but not with violence, or silence,

is he free

He doesn’t care

about the critical,

it’s way too political,

just his spiritual, visible, lyrical melody

An artist has to make some room

in everything he scenes

taking that the higher lines are free

and so we sang together,

we sang together, we sang alone

An artist has to make some room

in everything he seems

taking that the higher lines are free

An artist has to make some room

in everything he seems

3. YOU AND YOUR OWN

Music: Paul Toshner

Words: Paul Toshner and Max Witreol

Ebm F# B Db

B Em B Em B Abm

It’s such a shame when we complain

About our nearest and dearest

About the ones we need the most,

who give us all we are

And yes I know your not alone

it’s not just you, I know it’s everyone

We pass it off, in saying

we always hurt the ones we love

You and your own, it just makes sense

In the battle zone, not sitting on the fence

If you go I will test you right away,

I will test you right away, if you go

I'm grateful for your friendship

your troubles are also mine

as you say there’s no space between us

I say "in time"

You and your own, it just makes sense

In the battle zone, not sitting on the fence

If you go I will test you right away,

I will test you right away, if you go

4. NORWEGIAN POSTSCRIPT

Paul Toshner

Melody line: The Beatles

How easy to do

when you know that you loose

how easy to try

when you don’t know why

how easy to call me now,

but your always gone!

how easy to tell you

you’re the one

who really shouldn't take it wrong

but you me tell me that

every dog has his day

dog gone clever of you to say

how easy to be absurd,

how easy to be overheard

how easy to be undertaken

as the dead man waking just for you

how easy to do,

how easy to call me now,

but everyone’s always gone!

How easy to say I think I heard this

how easy to tell hold your breath

till the end of this

…..song

5. THE VISITORS

Paul Toshner

Bb  Dm   Eb

What brings you to these parts my friend

Is their something you’ve lost

Has the wind been strong

Did you not belong

Was the ground awash with frost

Come in I say

Warm those feet of clay

We’re not all Vincent Van Gogh

Its been foretold

That a colour less sold

(a colourless soul)

or the not so bolden rainbow

Gets to re-engage

Even centre stage

And somehow comes to pass

Or at very lease

doth find some peace

in what’s left of his ass

People die

things do change

if this is goodbye

it’s not so strange

not so strange at all

In the summer

my father comes south

to visit the visitors

in the visitors windows

6. SHE’S LIKE A FLOWER

Paul Toshner

F#  B

She’s like a flower

standing so proud

She’s like a flower silent but loud

she doesn’t need to say

everything in her way gets out of it

she just fits

She’s like a flower blazing red

She’s like a flower as she goes to bed

she keeps me right through the darkest night

She’s like a rose from her hair to her toes

She’s like the light everything’s so bright

And I don’t realize what she needs from me inside

but she holds me in esteem

I was such a fool to make her scream

She’s like a flower

closing up in the right hour

just so u cant c

she needs u to be

right there - light there - don’t beware

the secret is eating flowers

as the hours disappear

She’s like a flower she considers every hour

she thinks about the day as she lets slip away

she doesn’t  hold on

she realises, when the day has gone

She’s like a flower

in this song she gave herself away

there’s nothing she needs to say

as we fade away

7. IN LOVE AGAIN

Paul Toshner

Tonight when we see we want to be

under the stars and the moonlight

we can be lovers, undiscovered

to the whole world, beautiful girl

I’ve never before

than when you’re with me

I wont let yougo, forever I see

you for me

for you

or any two lovers who

just like me

just like you

oh oh oh

Ohhhh I’m in love again

3rd time today

with you

if one of my dreams

came true to me

then holding my hand

we’d reach for

our own better day

where we went our way

to the whole world

beautiful girl

you for me

for you

like any two lovers who

like me

like you

oh oh oh

Ohhhh I’m in love again

3rd time today

with you

8. HEY YOU

Paul Toshner

F  Bb/G   F/A   Bb

I’m sorry that I came

around and yelled at you

without a sound

From the dark to the dark

My journey it seems

Wherefore art thou

in my dreams

When will you see me

Where are you now

My future is darker somehow

I’m sorry that I came

around and yelled at you

without a sound, hey you

What did you speak of

What was at stake

Reality, duality

My friend you’re a fake

What can be borne

when it’s torn!?

Even harder to mourn

impossible to hold

breaking the mould

Excuse me my rhyme

It’s how I now spend my time

I’m sure I’d feel a bit better

If I could refine

I’m sorry that I came

around and yelled at you

without a sound, hey you

The future’s unknown

But it prays on my mind

if it’s the present I own

What’s the closing line

Lifting things

we can not carry

Diamonds and rings

do not always marry

I’m sorry that I came

around and yelled at you

without a sound, hey you

9. THE WAITING LEAVES

Paul Toshner

And the moment’s gone

and the moments go

and things you believe

even the things you know

and the feelings come

and the feelings stay

it’s just the way it goes every day

and the feeling grows

for the love u know

and the waiting leaves

in the wind they blow

and the waitingleaves

in the wind it blows

and the waiting leaves

in the wind it blows

everybody knows

everybody knows

Sorry for not being what u need

the most

Sorry not for being what you see

when you toast

sorry for the times I yelled

even though it was only once

sorry for how I made you feel

always and forever

Sorry that we never forgot

Sorry that we never forgot

stay with me

sing with me

and the moment’s gone

moments go

the things you believe

and the things you know

and the feelings come

and the feelings stay

and the feeling grows

I love you

and the waiting leaves

and the waiting leaves

and the waiting leaves

and the wedding leaves

everybody knows

Sorry for not being what u need

when you needed the most

Sorry not for being what you say

when you raise a toast

sorry for the times I yelled

even though it was only once

always and forever

Sorry that I never thought

Sorry that we never forgot

10. THE TIME

Paul Toshner

she said I’ll give you the time to let you know

I see the river flowing in you’re soul

she said I’ll give you the time if

you need to go my love for you

is changing, I love you more

and I will give you the time of your life

something in the way you stand  - she said

you look awful funny tonight

there’s something I understand  - she said

when you look at me in that light

I call you my man  - she said

I’ll call on you tonight and all of my life

she said I’ll give you the time to let you know

give you the time if you need to go

I see the river flowing in you’re soul

I’ll give you the time

my love for you is changing I love you more

As I stand alone in this crazy world she’s given me

I still make my home at the piano keys

but I know when I’m home,

coz she knows what I mean!

and I heard her when she said

all the things a woman’s fighting for

are all the things that I believe are yours

so I’ll give you the time to let you know

I see a river flowing in you’re soul, in your song

I’d give you the time if

you need to go my love for you

is changing, I love you more

if you dont go you wont come back

this river doesn’t let you step in the same place twice

there’s something in the way you stand  - she said

you look awful funny tonight

there’s something I understand  - she said

when you look at me in that light

call you my man  - she said

I’ll call on you tonight and all of my life

11. WHO KNOWS WHY

Paul Toshner

Who knows just why

We turn around and hide when reminded of love

Why did I try to pretend it’s not there

When I recognise real love

And inspiration leads to love

I can wait for you everything that you do

When exaggeration leads to hope

I can afford to dream if I know you know what I mean

12. ALL MY LOVE

Paul Toshner

(or should I say)

Bb   C

more than you had me

All my love is your love,

when I love someone like you.

For death is different

for a man than a woman

For she never was alive

except for within him

And he for she, well that is a given.

So what do I speak of,

what is the mark?

Tis a thing of time

and a thing of a spark

The former everlasting

The latter in the dark

Profound and enlightening

The difference is stark

All my love is your love,

when I love someone like you.

All my life is your life,

it’s how it turned out

in the end

Sorry if I offend

Sorry if I had any doubt

my friend

now I see

the best part of me

it had to be

Your life is my life, no doubt.

But now I see I did have you,

more than I had me.

Or should I say

I did have you

Or should I say

more than you had me

more than you had me

All my life is your life,

when I live someone like you

What should I say!?

Or should I say?

What should I?

"All my love"

What should I say,

or should I say

"What should I say!?"

13. HEY AH!

Words: Paul Toshner

Music: Paul Toshner and Paul Taylor

E   F#m  x2

C# m   B  A   A

Hey, ahhh!

Life was full of choices

Now my head is full of voices

Things are what they are

Accepting it is hard

If I could change I would

What I want is good

Oh but how I’d undo

I’m talking to me not you

Hey, ahhh!

To upturn the very essence

The requirement is effervescence

Oh what will give me this

must I persist

But failure is not fear

if it’s the only way to travel

If you know the why

The how is easy

Hey, ahhh!

do, not try

or only stop if your feeling queasy

Life was full of choices

Now my head is full of voices

Things are what they are

Accepting it is hard

If I could change I would

What I want is good

Oh but how I’d undo

I’m talking to me not you

Hey, ahhh!

But failure is not fear

if it’s the only way to travel

If you know the why

The how is easy

The journeys always here

If it’s a riddle to unravel

If you know the why

The how may be easy

If you know the why

The how may be easy

But do, not try

or only stop if your feeling queasy

Hey, ahhh!

14. IS SOMETHING FREE

Paul Toshner

Love will always be true

sorry, what I’m doing to you

To sum it up

what we had can not b

something free

not programmed

can u hear me

do u believe me

did I show u

are u near me

are you uneasy

stare into silence and know

if the person your with

is the person your with

stare into silence or go

is the person your with

the person your with

Love will always only be true

I’m sorry for what

I must be doing to you

To sum it up

what can not be:

is something free!

is something free?

is something, free!?

16. THE HORSE THAT SPOKE

a story of Emunah told to me by my cousin Ivor Tiefinbrun

Once upon a time my cousin Ivor went into the pub and everyone said “what happened!? Did you loose your

license, are you going to jail?!” He said “The horse spoke”. They said “What d’you mean?”

Well, he’d just come out of court for speeding so fast in a built up area, and the judge didn’t believe you could do that speed in that area. So he let him off with it.

But they all said to him “what d’you mean, the horse spoke!?

He said “let me explain, once upon a time there was a king, and the king had a favourite horse and he looked out the window and he sees the stable boy riding his

favourite horse. And he runs out, sais to the guard “chop his head off”. The stable boy says “wait a minute, I can

see the king every day from my little window, riding his favourite horse and I can see him whispering in the horses ear. I thought if I teach the kings horse to speak and answer him back, he’d be very happy!”

The king goes “Hmmmm!? That would be lovely wouldn’t it! You can really teach my horse to speak?! I tell you what I give you a year.

And if at the end of the year you succeed you’re going to be the richest man in the

kingdom, next to me. But if you fail you’ll wish I’d simply cut your head off coz you’re going to die a slow excruciating death.

He says “fine”

But he goes back to the stables, and the other stable boys say “you’re mad, you’re gonna be awake all year worrying about what he’s gonna do to you, you could have just had your head chopped off and that would have been it:

- “sholom al Yisroel done!”

He said “no you don’t understand. A lot can happen in a year; The king could die, I could die, the horse could die, the horse could speak.

You see the message of the story is that when he went out of court, he should have got a big ticket, lost his driving

license, and he went into the pub, and they all said “what happened”, he said

“the horse spoke”

they said

“What d’you mean!?”
