My name is Paul Avrom Toshner;
I’m a songwriter/singer from Scotland.
I was born 1968 in “The Victoria Infirmary” Glasgow.
I have been a resort and lounge act in Swiss ski resorts, Synagogue halls, hotel lounges in the west end of London (one of them was for four hours a night four nights a week for three years). I have recently been a concert act in American hotels and care homes. My act consist of lyric based song and a bit of daft chat. I took classical voice lessons for three years with Lide De Rosa, and piano with Jim McDowall in the West end of Glasgow
I dream music. Probably because my subconscious is exposed to a lot of playing, I then take the melodies and shape songs and structures and evolve them. I love the process. While building my calendar well here for live work, after getting married in NY and moving to Baltimore - Covid came along but it gave me the chance to catalogue my songs which I have been performed live for many years, some of which are gathered here now.
There is definitely some spiritual thing in what I do, being of the Jewish faith, that mind set is revealed in pieces, I'm a “Jewish singer/songwriter” after all (like an Italian chef).
As well as being prepared in the performance of, having honed and developed these pieces, I am hopeful and confident in the selection and that it can have some impact.
These are all originals and I DO play covers, but in an original way. Don’t expect to hear a song the way you knew it 😜.
For people having a Zoom event I have a featured serenade spot and a variety of services to offer.
My influences include: Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Billy Joel, Mahler, Frank Sinatra, Pavarotti, Elton John, and of course The Beatles.

"Simply put, an invitation to share in the gemora with someone, is to share in truth with someone, to share in perfection, to share in happiness. I have never enjoyed being wrong so much, it is the ultimate in the middle road, and so affords the greatest dynamic potential - what a conversation to be part of. It is also a most essential exercise for people who they feel they can not risk real dialogue"
